DR. BETH LANGE, PH.D., CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER, MARY KAY

Dr. Beth Lange, Ph.D., joined Mary Kay Inc. in 2008 as Chief Scientific Officer. In her role, she shares a wealth of knowledge about skin care and Mary Kay® products to consumers with the more than 2 million members of the Mary Kay independent sales force and their customers through print and online education, as well as personal interaction at Company events. She also represents the Company to global trade associations and the medical community, as well as leads the product integrity organization, which includes quality, technical information and regulatory affairs.

Dr. Lange joined Mary Kay Inc. from Schering Plough Consumer Health, located in Memphis, Tenn. In her role there as Senior Director of Worldwide Skin Care and International Over-the-Counter Medicines, Dr. Lange was accountable for all new Coppertone® and Solarcaine® products in more than 40 countries around the world. She also led a new technologies group, which managed intellectual property and competitive intelligence providing benchmarking as well as emerging opportunities for the consumer division. Past positions also include management roles for Kimberly-Clark and Unilever corporations. She has been granted more that 20 U.S. and European patents in her career and has published her scientific expertise in newspapers, such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. She also had appeared on "The Today Show".

Dr. Lange earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear medicine from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., in 1991 and a doctorate in radiation biology from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa, in 1995.
