MARY KAY'S PINK CHANGING LIVES CSR INITIATIVES

Thanks to the efforts of Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants, Mary Kay's global cause-marketing initiative, Beauty That Counts®, has generated funds to help make the lives of women and children in need just a bit more beautiful. A portion of the sale from each of these earmarked Mary Kay® products benefits organizations dedicated to promoting the education, self-reliance, health and well-being of women and their families – because when women thrive, beautiful things happen.

On 14th of July 2016, Mary Kay has join hand in hand with STOP HUNGER NOW www.stophungernow.org with the mission to end hunger in the lives of the underprivileged in Malaysia. Today, Mary Kay has donated a total of RM 40,000 which equivalent to 40,000 packs of meals through STOP HUNGER NOW. The packed meals are highly nutritious, dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring and 21 essential vitamins and minerals. Each package provides a reasonable serving for six and each serving costs approximately RM 1.00 to make.

Stop Hunger Now distributes meals primarily through school feeding programs operated by partner organizations in developing countries. These school feeding programs promote education, encourage children to attend school, improve the health and nutrition of students, promote gender equality and maternal health, spur economic growth, combat child labor, and create a platform for tackling global issues.

Globally, more than 1 billion people do not have enough to eat. In developing countries,10.9 million children under age five die each year. In fact, a child dies every six seconds from a hunger-related cause. With the contribution of the packed meals, we hope to be able to combat hunger among the world’s most impoverished.
